God's Free Gift... Just For You!

There is nothing quite like a free gift. Just the thought of someone caring enough about you to purchase something for you... to give to you... and all you have to do is take it from them. In our lives, we have set aside certain days of the year to give gifts to others. Christmas, Mother's Day or Father's Day, birthdays, and the list goes on. Thankfully, God has set aside EVERY DAY to give His free gift away to anyone who will ask Him for it... and it is the best gift you could ever imagine receiving! It is called "salvation," and it lasts for eternity! Here is how you can "claim" this gift... from God to you!

First, understand that ALL of us have a BIG problem... God calls it "sin." Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." In other words, no one is perfect! Sin has a high price tag. Romans 6:23 tells us, "For the wages of sin is death...." This means the price for our sin is eternal death apart from God, in a place called Hell - not a good thing! Because of our sin, none of us can make it to Heaven on our own.

Here is the good part... the rest of Romans 6:23 says, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God sent us help! In fact, Romans 5:8 tells us, "But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

So... you must believe that Jesus Christ wants to be your Saviour! He came to earth as God in the flesh, lived a perfect life, and then voluntarily died on a cross, all because He loves you. He literally paid for your sins! He took your blame. He wants to forgive you of all your sin. That is quite a gift!

Now, you must place your full trust, or "faith," in Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." God says it is as simple as believing and receiving. All you must do is pray and ask! You could do it right now! With God in your heart, life makes a lot more sense!
